Panasonic has announced two new zoom point and shoot cameras, the Lumix ZS60 and ZS100.

The ZS60 features an 18-megapixel sensor and 4K capability, with a 30x (24-720 mm equivalent) Leica lens.

The high sensitivity MOS sensor is said to deliver exceptional low-light performance, with crisp, clear and natural results with minimal noise. The sensor complements a Venus processing engine to reproduce colour that remains accurate to the composition seen through the lens.

The camera offers smooth, high-quality video recording in 4K (3840×2160) at 30 fps in MP4, as well as high-resolution Full HD (1920×1080) 60p videos in MP4.

Panasonic’s 4K Photo function allows the extraction of an 8-megapixel still from 4K video (30fps).

Another new addition to the range is the Post-Focus feature, which allows the user to select the focal point of the picture, even after it’s taken.

The camera’s autofocus system uses 49 focus points. Once the photo is taken, simply select the precise area of focus, with the option to export multiple photos from a single shot.

The ZS60 also offers extensive and easy-to-use manual settings. A dedicated Control Ring gives smooth control of settings such as zoom, aperture and shutter speed. A 3.0-inch touch screen makes navigating menus and selecting preferred settings incredibly quick and easy.

Images can be easily shared with the press of a button. Simply connect to a smartphone or tablet to share pictures on social media, attach them to an email, or view remotely on a bigger screen.

The Lumix ZS100 is described as a premium compact travel camera, sporting a 10x (25-250 mm equivalent) f/2.8-5.9 Leica DC lens.

There’s a 1-inch MOS sensor which, combined with the camera’s Venus engine, captures consistently bright and beautiful images, says the company. The camera also features 4K Photo and Post-Focus, and images and video can be shared with friends and family at the press of a button.

Panasonic says the camera captures shots that look crisp, clear and natural, even when photographing at high ISO, such as dusk and dawn, with “unrivalled colour accuracy for a travel camera.”

The ZS100 offers smooth, high quality video recording in 4K (3840×2160) at 24 and 30 fps in MP4; as well as high-resolution Full HD (1920×1080) 60p videos in MP4.

Panasonic’s 4K Photo function allows the extraction of an 8-megapixel still from 4K video (30fps).

Post-Focus allows you to choose the focal point of any picture, even after it’s taken.

The Live View Finder (LVF) features high resolution, as well as LVF AF that detects when you’re about to take a shot. The camera also provides extensive manual controls.

Combining Wi-Fi and QR code connectivity, it is easy to connect the camera to a smartphone or tablet, allowing you to post to social media almost as soon as they’ve been recorded.

The Lumix DMC-ZS60 will be available in black and silver staring in April with a manufacturer’s suggested price of $649.99. The ZS100 will be available in black and silver with a manufacturer’s suggested price of $999.99.
