The lenses are identical except for the addition of Nikon’s Vibration Reduction (VR) system in one of them.
Both lenses are the equivalent of 27-82.5 mm.
What makes them new is that both are the first AF-P lenses for Nikon digital SLR cameras, utilizing stepping motors to drive AF for fast and quiet autofocusing.
In addition, they have a compact and lightweight design using retractable barrels, plus two aspherical lens elements which has resulted in superior optical performance, suppressing with which various types of aberration, including distortion and spherical aberration, says the company.
The VR system is claimed to offer camera shake compensation equivalent to 4 stops.
