Two new FinePix cameras from Fujifilm, the F900EXR and JX600.
The F900EXR is a premium, compact long-zoom camera that features a new Intelligent Hybrid AF system that focuses as fast as 0.05 seconds by using a new Phase Detection AF system in its advanced EXR-CMOS II sensor. The camera automatically switches between Phase Detection AF and Contrast Detection AF depending on the subject and scene.
It has an improved Wireless Image Transfer function that allows users to quickly and easily upload high resolution images and movies to their Apple or Android smartphone or tablet. To connect the F900EXR to a smartphone or tablet, users can download a free app to transfer up to 30 pictures at a time. The app also lets you download movies.
The camera features a 1/2-inch 16-megapixel EXR-CMOS II sensor and Fujinon 20x (25-500 mm equivalent) lens, along with an Intelligent Digital Zoom feature that effectively doubles zoom capability and a 3.0-inch LCD.
The F900EXR’s processor more than doubles the performance of the first-generation EXR processor. The camera delivers a startup time of just 1.1seconds, an interval between shots of 0.5 seconds, and burst-mode rates of 11 frames/second (max. 5 frames).
With its Wi-Fi capability, the F900EXR allows users to back up photos on their home computer.
Macro Mode allows focusing down to 1.9 inches.
The camera will shoot Full HD video at 60 frames per second with improved Phase Detection AF; there’s a dedicated recording button and built-in stereo microphone.
The Intelligent Hybrid AF system is active during movie recording. The camera also offers Scene Recognition for movie recording that automatically adjusts camera settings for landscapes, close-ups, night landscapes, portraits, backlit portraits, and night portraits.
Advanced Filters include: Pop Colour, Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Partial Colour, High Key, Low Key, and Soft Focus.
Other camera features: full manual control, RAW, Motion Panorama 360.
The FinePix JX600 is a slim camera with a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens (26-130 mm equivalent), Digital Image Stabilization, and an Advanced Filter function for added creative expression.
It has a 14-megapixel CCD sensor, ISO 3200 maximum sensitivity, 720p HD movie recording, and 2.7-inch LCD.
The FinePix F900EXR will be available in black, red and indigo blue in March for $400.
The FinePix JX600 will be available in March for $85 and will be available in black, white and red.
