The Coolpix L610 is termed an affordable compact digital camera by Nikon, featuring an impressive 14x optical Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens and an Easy Auto Mode to help capture photos and Full HD (1080p) video. It boasts a 16.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and Nikon’s Expeed C2 image processing engine.
The camera features a precise autofocus system, a 3-inch LCD monitor, and AA-size battery power.
The L610’s 14x optical zoom covers 25-350mm (equivalent). This high-performance lens has two ED glass elements, and lens construction consists of 11 elements in 10 groups.
For photographing subjects up close, macro shooting is possible from as close as approximately 1 cm (at wide-angle setting).
Additionally, optical VR image stabilization minimizes the effects of camera shake.
With a 16.0-megapixel backside illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor, image details can be beautifully reproduced even in low light, says Nikon.
Easy Auto Mode automatically selects from among six scene modes including Portrait, Landscape, Night Portrait, Night Landscape, Close-up, and Backlighting. By simply framing the subject, the most appropriate scene mode is automatically selected according to the shooting situation.
The conveniently located Movie-Record button enables one-touch recording at any time..
The Nikon Coolpix L610 is scheduled to be available in September at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $279.95; available in red, black and silver.
