The Sigma 19 mm f/2.8 EX DN is designed exclusively for Compact System (CSC) interchangeable lens cameras. This wide-angle lens produces the angle of view of a 38 mm lens (35 mm equivalent) on the Micro Four Thirds systems and of a 28.5 mm lens (equivalent) on the E-mount system.
Three glass mold aspherical elements allow the lens to be compact and lightweight, and provide excellent correction for distortion and field curvature.
The inner focusing system corrects the fluctuation of aberration to maintain image quality regardless of the focal distance.
Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, and ensures high contrast images.
The superior telecentric optical design improves the image quality throughout the frame, says Sigma
This lens benefits from a newly developed linear autofocus motor, which moves the lens elements directly without the need for gears or the drive of other mechanical parts. This system ensures accurate and quiet autofocusing, making the lens particularly suitable for video recording.
The 7-blade, rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image.
The suggested retail price of the Sigma 19 mm f/2.8 EX DN lens is $269.99. The lens will be available in the Micro Four-Thirds mount by mid-April, followed later by the Sony E-mount version.
