Fujifilm Canada has 11 new digital cameras for Spring, offering a wide range of options including new GPS technology and new EXR-CMOS Sensor Technology. All cameras offer High Definition (HD) video, Tracking Auto Focus, Intelligent Scene Recognition, Panorama Shooting Modes, YouTube/Facebook easy web upload, and Face Detection. The new cameras will be available beginning in February.
FinePix HS20EXR: Following the HS10, the HS20EXR is touted to be the perfect alternative to those thinking about purchasing a DSLR. With the new sensor and EXR Processor, the camera offers wide dynamic range for capturing small details in highlights and shadows, high speed continuous shooting up to 11 frames per second and achieves exceptionally sharp and clear images and videos in all scenes and lighting conditions. The EXR processor also has the capability to detect and minimize purple fringing while enhancing edge-to-edge sharpness for superb image quality throughout.
It features a 30X wide angle Fujinon lens and can shoot as close as 1 cm in Super Macro without needing to purchase additional lenses. Users can also record videos in Full HD Movie Capture at 1080p as well as high speed movies up to 320 fps for capturing subjects in super slow motion. The HS20EXR also features an eye sensor which automatically switches between the 3-inch tilting LCD and the electronic viewfinder.
The HS20EXR has full manual controls including shutter and aperture priority, offers the ability to shoot in RAW format, has EXR Priority modes (Wide Dynamic Range for high contrast scenes, High Sensitivity for low light scenes and High Resolution for maximum detail). EXR Auto mode now recognizes 27 scenes automatically, taking the guesswork out of selecting the correct camera setting.
Other features include a Motion Panorama 360 degree Shooting mode that lets the user capture wide panoramic shots by simply panning the camera, 16-megapixel resolution, improved Dual Image Stabilization, TTL Flash metering with two optional external flashes (EF20 and EF42, sold separately) and compatibility with the RR-80 remote release (sold separately).
The FinePix HS20EXR has a suggested retail price of $499.99.
FinePix F550EXR: The slim F550EXR features a 15x wide-angle (24-360 mm) Fujinon Optical Zoom lens with Dual Image Stabilization, the new Sensor and EXR Processor, and is said to offer outstanding sharp and clear images in all scenes and lighting conditions. It has EXR Priority modes and, for the first time on a Fujifilm compact camera, High Speed Shooting up to 11 frames per second (at 8-megapixels).
The F550EXR has built-in GPS capabilities, with more than 500,000 locations and points of interest, worldwide, built into the camera, displaying the closest place on the image and tagging each picture for quick searching of photos later.
Other new features include: Motion Panorama 360 degree Shooting, Dog and Cat Detection for pet shots, RAW-file capture, Full HD Movie Capture at 1080p Video, Face Recognition (which takes Face Detection to a new level by instantly recognizing and tagging faces in photos making searching and sorting much easier), 16-megapixel resolution and a high resolution 3-inch LCD screen.
Available in black for a suggested retail price of $349.99.
FinePix S3400 and S2950: The S3400 and S2950 are offered with a powerful 28x (24-672 mm) Wide Angle Fujinon Optical Zoom Lens (S3400) or 18x (28-504 mm) Wide Angle Fujinon Optical Zoom Lens (S2950); Electronic Viewfinder; high-contrast 3.0-inch LCD Screen; and HD 720p Video with HDMI port.
The Facebook/YouTube Easy Web Upload tool allows the user to tag photos in-camera for quick upload to Facebook and YouTube once connected to a PC. Both models feature Smile and Blink Detection, which releases the shutter once the subject smiles or alerts the user if they blink. The S3400 also offers Face Recognition, allowing the user to register up to eight people and then automatically tagging photos to make searching and sorting much easier.
Other features include 14-megapixel resolution, Motion Panorama for capturing landscape photos by auto-stitching three photos together, High Sensitivity up to ISO 6400, Full Manual controls including Shutter and Aperture priority and Tracking Auto Focus for capturing moving subjects faster.
These cameras carry a suggested retail price of $279.99 (S3400) and $229.99 (S2950).
FinePix XP20 and XP30: The FinePix XP20 has improved “adventure-proof” capabilities including shockproof to 1.5 metres, waterproof to 5 metres, freezeproof to -10°C and dust/sandproof. Users can catch the action in HD 720p Video and instantly upload photos with the YouTube/Facebook Easy Web Upload function. With Movie Editing, users can also edit videos right from the camera to create video clips or short movies, and Motion Panorama auto-stitches three photos together for capturing impressive panorama photos.
With the same core features as the XP20, the XP30 is also equipped with built-in GPS capabilities.
Key specs include 14-megapixel resolution, 5x wide angle (28 mm) Fujinon Optical Zoom lens and a scratchproof 2.7-inch LCD screen. The camera also comes with Intelligent Scene Recognition, Tracking Auto Focus and CCD Shift Image Stabilization.
The XP20 is available in green, blue, orange, black for a suggested retail price of $199.99; the XP30 is available in blue at $229.99.
FinePix Z90: The FinePix Z90 features a 3.0-inch Touch Screen display. With the Tap & Shoot feature, the user can simply touch the LCD screen to focus and capture an image in an instant.
The camera also includes Fujifilm’s Facebook/YouTube Easy Upload tool and numerous In-Camera Editing functions allowing the user to crop and stitch videos, rotate, change brightness, create collages and apply mosaic effects to pictures and easily upload with the press of a button. The Z90 also produces HD Movie Capture at 720p for videos that are easy to share, Motion Panorama mode, 14-megapixel resolution, a Fujinon 5x wide angle (28 mm) Fujinon Optical zoom lens and Intelligent Scene Recognition are housed in a 17 mm slim design and stylish metal body. Other features include Fujifilm’s Tracking Auto Focus technology and Digital Image Stabilization.
The Z90 is available in blue or pink for a suggested retail price of $169.99.
FinePix T200: The FinePix T200 is a slim superzoom offering a 10x wide angle (28 mm) Fujinon Optical Zoom lens paired with Dual Image Stabilization; HD Movie Capture at 720p that can be played back on any HDTV system; and Fujifilm’s Motion Panorama Mode.
Other features include Intelligent Scene Recognition that automatically selects the correct scene/shooting mode and Face Recognition, 14-megapixel resolution and a high contrast 2.7-inch LCD Screen.
The T200 is available in black for a suggested retail price of $179.99.
FinePix JX300 and JV200: The FinePix JX300 and JV200 offer Motion Panorama Mode and HD Movie Capture at 720p. Intelligent Scene Recognition automatically selects the correct scene/shooting mode while Digital Image Stabilization ensures clear and sharp photos.
In addition to 14-megapixel resolution and a high contrast 2.7-inch LCD Screen, the JX300 comes with a 5x Wide Angle (28 mm) Fujinon Optical Zoom Lens while the JV200 comes with a 3x Optical Zoom. Both cameras include a Li-ion rechargeable battery and charger. Other features include Fujifilm’s Facebook/YouTube Web Mode for quick uploading of photos and Face Detection with Smile and Blink Detection.
Both cameras are available in black or pink for a suggested retail price of $139.99 (JX300) and $109.99 (JV200).
FinePix AX300 and AV230: The FinePix AX300 and AV230 are designed to be beginner’s point and shoot cameras. Both cameras feature HD Movie Capture at 720p, Motion Panorama Mode, Face Detection with Smile and Blink Detection, Intelligent Scene Recognition and Digital Image Stabilization.
Other features include 14-megapixel resolution, high contrast 2.7-inch LCD Screen, a 5x Fujinon Optical Zoom Lens for the AX300 and 3x for the AV230.
The AV230 is available in silver for a suggested retail price of $89.99, and the AX300 in black for $94.99.
